DSTV Camber is the latest piece of software from Steel Products designed for the Steel manufacturing Industry.

The program provides an automated solution to the current time-consuming and manual process of having to re-draw plate girder webs that are required to be cambered. Saving time and removing costly mistakes.

This sophisticated customisable software program is primarily used to convert DSTV – NC files that are created for horizontal members into DSTV-NC files with cambers, in other words cambered DSTV-NC files and cambered DXF files.

In this case the 3D modelling software used in the drawing office produces NC files under the DSTV format, these files are for members in the horizontal position (i.e. no camber), however in reality these members are often cambered and the requirement was to provide a conversion program to automatically convert and create a cambered NC file for sending to the plate profiling machines for nesting.

The total camber can comprise fabrication camber as well as residual camber to suit user requirements.

The software has the ability to automatically create a DXF of the cambered component providing additional benefit where the profiling machines are unable to import NC files but can accept DXF files.

If no camber is selected then the program will simply convert DSTV-NC files into DXF files, providing further benefits for the user.

The conversion can be run on any number of NC files from 1 to 100 and also has the ability to convert entire folders at one go.

A complete set of program parameters allow the user to setup rules on segmentation, cambering holes adjacent to the ends, notches and fabrication cambers.
